How does one fight the systemic mainstream media bias against Israel? This bias is evident when the well-respected worldwide media repeats, pushes, and never questions the lies, slander, and libelous statements put forth by obviously antisemitic and anti-Israel organizations, individuals (including uninformed celebrities) without verifying it against the truth. “ In an age of information where the primary language of mutual communication between various cultures is English , TRT World will provide new perspectives on world events to a global audience.” [my italicization for emphasis] says TRTworld.com, a Turkish based news website, on its About Us page. There are two different crises happening – one in Israel and another in the United Stated that perhaps can be solved, or at least mitigated, by the same solution. In Israel, there is the constant threat of terrorists bent on murdering innocents on the streets. These attacks come in many forms, but the one-on-one situation of stabbing attacks are becoming very prevalent. Crazed, brainwashed, radicalized individuals attack without warning and try to kill women, children, elderly, even soldiers, with a knife. Tragically, in many instances these terrorists are successful in causing severe injuries and killings. In the United States, there is an increase in crime as evidenced by organized groups conducting smash and grab raids that are reminiscent of pre-pandemic Black Friday crowds storming stores.   According to a July 27, 2020 article on BuyItInIsrael.com titled “ Why are homes in Israel so expensive? ”, each year between 2015 and 2019 50,000-57,000 new apartments were built. Unfortunately, as the article points out, this is well below the projected yearly need, which is part of the supply and demand reason that housing prices keep rising. The build and purchase process when buying an apartment on paper [‘on paper’ means before or as the building is being completed] usually is: ·          A kablan (builder/contractor) submits plans to the local municipality. ·          The kablan then sells the approved apartment plans to prospective owners. ·          The owners can make small changes (such as: add more electrical points, run a water line for filtered water, etc.) during the construction process. ·        ...

Mitchell Bard’s recent article ( War-gaming ‘hasbara’ December 8 JNS) puts forth a very interesting concept: Treat government Hasbara (public diplomacy) as one more weapon in the military arsenal. Therefore, make the messaging part of the military’s planning and execution to be prepared before (similar to air force bombardment softening the ground for a ground invasion) and during the events. However, Israel seems to always be in the middle of some event. His idea is very interesting, needed, and should be explored.
